Avenal Animal Shelter Volunteer Day Brings Love, Care and Hope to Local Pets 🐾

AVENAL, Calif. — The Avenal Animal Shelter was filled with compassion Sunday, August 23, as volunteers came together for a special day of service dedicated to the dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes.

Claire from Tired Tails joined volunteers who traveled from the San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles areas, near and far to spend the day giving their time and care to Avenal’s shelter animals.

From walking dogs, and giving baths to cleaning kennels, pet laundry and simply spending time with the cats/ all pets.

Volunteers made sure all animals received plenty of attention and affection.

For many of the volunteers, visiting Avenal is about more than volunteering — it is about making a connection with animals that are still waiting for someone to choose them.

The dogs and cats at the shelter continue to show just how loving, friendly and deserving they are. Each one has its own personality and story, and each deserves the opportunity to become part of a caring family.

Avenal Press also understands how life-changing adoption can be. In May, Avenal Press adopted a German Shepherd, a reminder that opening your home to a shelter animal can create a bond that lasts a lifetime.
